Whistle blowing

The intellect judgment is defined as conscience in philosophical terms. It involves revealing whether the actions carried out by someone are wrong or right judged by the prevailing norms. Conscience looks in to moral standards. It identifies whether the actions we perform coincide with the moral values. It is an internal awareness concept revealing our motives. Conscience taken in philosophical viewpoint addresses the issues to be performed. Conscience may originate from religious, peer group or even a corporate. A problematic situation requires moral thought.  There are various philosophers who have done much in the area of conscience. The acceptance of conscience was put forth by Thomas Hobbes. John Locke observed the law of nature. State laws may be contradicted by moral laws which concerns human conscience. The concept of following someones conscience is distinct. Morality is supported by metaethics which is applicable in the society. The moral law was further fermented by Immanuel Kant who considered two issues. This included awe and admiration.

Having considered the viewpoint of several philosophers on the issue of conscience, any fraud by a superior should be exposed to the public interest. (Miethe Terance, 1999) This should be done internally ensuring there is no misconduct. Conscience involves analyzing the actions carried out. The actions may either be wrong or right. It requires carrying out activities without fear of losing a job or being hurt.

Whistle bowing is the act of revealing wrong doings in the workplace. It involves alerting the public on the bad practices in an organization. Whistle blowing is used to alert on any misconduct. Someone enables the stakeholders of an organization to get the truth about misconduct in the organization which might ruin them. There are various repercussions of economic fraud in an organization. It affects the organization development, governance and job opportunities. Whistle blowing should be carried following moral laws governed by conscience.
