Pleaselook through the site ( HYPERLINK httpkclibrary.lonestar.edudecade60.html httpkclibrary.lonestar.edudecade60.html) and discuss the thingyou find most interestingabout the decade.

The thing about the 1960s that most grabs my attention is the general passion for change and social equality that seemed to envelop the youth of the time. It is especially interesting considering the widespread apathy that can be seen in the youth of today. I think what causes that apathy is not really the want to change or have a better world, but is the disappointment in the world and a general idea that one cannot do much to change ingrained social ills. What is very different for the 1960s is that they did not have this disappointment yet, they seemed to strongly believe that they could change things and whats more is that they actually acted on this belief. Even though most people today seem to think that the 1950s were an idyllic time, the people of the 1960s did much to separate themselves in about every aspect from the beliefs and characteristics of the previous decade. Another thing that is so interesting about the decade is the vast amount of art, fashion, music, and ideas that the youth produced at the time that are still so very relevant, powerful, and influential today. The pop art phenomenon the distinct fashion styles the moon landing and especially the music, where the 1960s is most known for the birth of Woodstock and all the great musical icons that emerged at the time, all of these make it seem like such a colorful, creative, and overall thoroughly interesting time where all great things were possible.
