A view on the lives of Benjamin Franklin and Sojourner Truth
Franklin lives at an era where America is taking its shape towards a strong government. American Revolution was at its height and slavery was yet to be abolished. Also in the year 1790 inventors were encourage due to the need for new technologies in that particular time and Patent Act to further encourage all inventors of the time.  Generally speaking, Benjamin has been more than a scientist and a public figure.

Sojourner Truth, on the other hand, was a former slave in her era and at the same time slavery was about to be abolished during her time. Like Benjamin, Truth played a big part in Civil War through recruitment and advocacies while Benjamin has been involved as a diplomat in American Revolution. Each person has contributed to change the society in their own ways, Benjamin as an inventor, a statesman and a person who introduced virtues and principles in order to have a better living while Truth as an advocate against slavery and womens rights which in that era is one of the common problems of the society.

Being a member of a middle-class family, Franklins life was not that hard compared to Truth. Franklin used his wealth and influences to help others and Truth on the other hand used her wisdom and experiences to help people who had experiences like her. Franklin is intellectually inclined compared to Truth because he had his education early in his age while Truth only learned to speak English later on her life.

Benjamin Franklin would have viewed Sojourner Truth as one of the first woman to speak about her political and spiritual principles in public and the first to narrate her story as a slave. Truth, on the other hand would have viewed Franklin as a person who helped attain American Independence.
Both of them had live in their own time and leaving vast contributions to the society we live until today. These persons deserved to be respected and honored from their time to the years to come.
